A slice of student life. At F&M, we're not of the mindset that unless you are out
white-water rafting or stage-diving at an all-campus rocker, you can't
be having fun. It doesn't always work that way. Hanging with friends
in your dorm, grabbing a bite together at the Steinman College Center,
or catching a movie can be just as entertaining and memorable. The thing
is, when you do want to get out for a thick slice of extracurricular
life, it's there for you. All the time.
Calling all interests. A big part of student life at F&M is centered on personal
growth. This begins with the offering of more than 100 distinct student
clubs and organizations that range in interest from Women in Neuroscience,
to Hip Hop Review, to Christians in Action, to Rude Mechanicals.
The campus buzz. Frankly, to talk about all the different events and activities
that go on in a given year at F&M would be enough to fill an entire
Web site by itself. Just know that there are cool things happening on
campus all the time. Some of the most popular annual events at F&M
include the Community Activities Fair, Family Weekend, Involvement Fair,
Hallowed Mayhem, Winter Wonderland, Love Central, Spring Arts Weekend,
Leaderpalooza Retreat, and Stressbusters. Come visit our campus to find out more.
Ben's Underground. This is where a lot of the on-campus fun at F&M starts.
Ben's Underground is our student-run, non-alcoholic pub complete with
a big-screen, pool tables…you get the idea. By day, it serves
as one of the more popular places for students to gather for an afternoon
snack. By night, it transforms into a weekly venue for hot bands, comedians,
magicians, poetry readings, and countless other performances.
F&M College Bookstore. For a tantalizing textbook, a steamy latté, or a hot
new F&M sweatshirt, check out the College bookstore. Located in
the renovated Distler House, the bookstore is operated
by Barnes & Noble and features restored vaulted ceilings, a
glass façade, and Jazzman's café where students enjoy
a casual atmosphere and dozens of coffee specialties.
The Writers House The Writers House provides a home for a great variety of writing-related
programs and activities on the Franklin and Marshall College campus.
A vibrant community of writers and readers come together here to participate
in programs and workshops in creative writing, medical writing, grammar,
journalism, academic scholarship, public policy writing, writing for
broadcast media, and dinner events.
Of course, the
only way to really experience F&M is to visit. But, since we’re
fairly certain you’re not here now, the next best thing is by taking
advantage of our virtual tour and visit planner. You’ve probably
seen these before, but ours is as cool as they come.
