Faculty Perceptions can often be misleading. Not even close. At F&M, our professors are absorbed in the lives and successes of their students. They place a priority on teaching. And when that involves research, they will involve you in theirs or help guide you through the projects you initiate. This is a place where great minds can flourish. Consider this:
What does this mean to you? They will reveal to you the expansive canvas of your liberal arts education in critical thought, rational analysis, effective communication, and responsible and humane action. They will share their “gut” perspectives. And they will be your closest advisors and confidantes throughout your F&M experience. When it comes to helping students make the most of their college experience in terms of exploring the imagination, few professors can match Anthony Ugolnik. “What I want for my students is this: To increase their capacity to take pleasure in life and always enjoy the exploration of their imaginations. I'm always melancholy on graduation day because I have to say good-bye to them.” Dr.
Anthony Ugolnik If you want to understand faculty accessibility, start with Annalisa Crannell, who recently donated a kidney to a fellow member of the F&M community. “It's hard to explain to people looking in from the outside who are just boggled by how close we are with each other, because that's the way it's always been here. We can't imagine anything different.” Dr.
Annalisa Crannell One of F&M's true winners in life, Glenn Robinson simply looks into the eyes of his students and players to find his daily inspiration. “One of the things I love most about F&M is the daily interaction with such bright and motivated students. We really get to deal with the cream of the crop. And when you're with young people who are so with it, so sharp, it's just a joy.” |
