Philosophy
Franklin & Marshall College places a high priority on integrating the educational and athletic experience. Intercollegiate participation is encouraged by offering students a wide variety of varsity athletic opportunities. The student/athlete receives the same privileges in the areas of admission, academic advising, course selection, living and dining accommodations and financial aid, as do all other students on campus. All sports are given equal emphasis and enjoy suitable competition.
The pride of the athletic department is reflected in a coaching staff that pursues a commitment to excellence and encourages the student/athlete to reach high levels of performance. While primary emphasis is given to in-season competition, exceptional teams and individuals are given every opportunity to qualify and excel in post-season playoffs and tournaments.
